This Document will outline how to setup materials in ZModeler.

How to access the Materials Browser

The Materials Browser is extremely important from making objects look their best in game. It's also important for emissive materals which can be seen below.

To access the materials browser, press this button at the top of ZModeler:

Making Lights Visible In Game

Before lights can be viewed properly in game, you must ensure that your emissive material is all the way at the top of your Materials Browser:

If the emissive material is higher than every other material, the emissive will always shine through other materials. For example, if your emissive material is lower than the glass in front of it, the glass would cover the emissive and It won't be seen in game.

Materials of Assets

Sometimes when you import an asset into ZModeler, it comes with multiple materials. It's important to setup these materials in the correct order so they look their best in game.

You should generally follow this format (Starting from top to bottom):

  • vehicle_lightsemissive (Emissive should always be at the top of all materials)

  • vehicle_mesh

  • vehicle_badges

  • vehicle_vehglass
